LE Confectionery

Their customer service was terrible but I guess thay are able to give those kind of attitude yet getting returning customer (me included) as their pastry is really good.

Their bean curd tart is one of their "specialty". It only comes in boxes of 8. Prices are $8 for plain bean curd flavour or $9 for assorted flavours. And one has to consume the tarts within 3 tarts.

Otherwise the sides of the tarts will start to "crack" and become soft. This picture was taken on the second day. I feel that it is best to consume on the purchase day itself.

The fudge cake was yummy! $12.80.

Deniece's bday meal

About 2 months ago, we prepared a "japanese" birthday meal for Deniece at home and star-star was pleased with what I've accomplished. Whew!

This was what we had.

Salmon for the birthday girl.

Some sushis

Takoyaki

Ebi vege pancake

Kitsu udon

omelette rice

We were proud to come up with this idea as dining out would be much costly and the food portion would be little.

Although its a simple meal, I believed Deniece was really touched by our efforts. Hahaha

Seoul Garden @ Northpoint

It's been so many years since we ate at Seoul Garden.
And now they have student meal price, its just makes it more tempting. We went for their dinner buffet. The best part is the buffet starts at 4pm! All the way to 1030pm. Total of 6.5 hours of eating. Hahaha

However, the student meal is only available at 3 locations. Click here to find out where.
It was $19 after all the ++, and it includes refillable beverages. I personally think, it's VERY value for money.

We were there at about 530pm and the place was still quite empty. Took picture of EVERY food item that were available at that timing. Read on, you want to know what $19 will get you.
The interior

This is placed at a very corner place. This 'food station' is terrible, at least to us. The spot on the right is some ginseng base soup.

Satay sauce which we didn't try. And white rice.

The pre-cooked food

The 2 chicken/fish looking meat is yummy. Can skip the pasta and fried rice.

The condiments

The "steamboat food"

The salad.

Vegetables, they were a variety of 5 or 6.

Noodles. Too bad they don't served our favourite - vermicelli

The meat for BBQ!

The Beef

Chickens

More chickens

It's weird they placed the hotdog with prawns and clams. Doesn't it belong to the fishball/yong tau foo side?

The fruits.

Jellies and syrups for deserts.

Ice creams and the toppings. The green tea/matcha was nice. But my fav would still be anything peppermint-flavoured.

Sponge cakes

The drinks available

Start!!!!!

Finally.. some cooked food...

Me, happily BBQ-ing away.

Our deserts

Of course, we ate alot more than the above. I love steamboat.

However, start-star prefer buffet kind, those which doesn't require her to cooked her own food. Just take and eat because she is lazy and finds the time waiting for the food to be cooked very tiring. Haha.

May is about to come to an end. The second half of June is going to be scary for me, actually, it is already full of ambiguity as of RIGHT NOW.

Tuesday, May 8

Swatou Seafood Restaurant @ Toa Payoh Central

It's ala-carte dim sum buffet at Swatou!

Buffet is from 3-5pm. And it was about $24/pax. Food was continuously served throughout the 1.5 hours or so.

And we ate and ate till about 450pm.

I think it would be good to made reservations as the place looks pretty crowded.

The place was almost filled after a while.

Some chinese tea was served immediately upon seated. They refilled the teapot twice without us requesting

Alright, this was the 1st dish served. We have no idea what it was.

2nd type of food brought out. Ngoh Hiong and some fried stuff.

My fav, chee cheong fun.

Supposedly shark fin soup I think. For this, of course, it's only limited to one bowl per person.

Kueh pie tie.

Curry fishball. I know it's common food but I like it!

Ooh.. This picture is giving me a headache

Laksa. Should have gotten 1 bowl and shared. It's nothing extraordinary tasty.

And more fried stuff

This was nice.

The vege which the servers claimed was one of their signature dish. I guess it's just too bad we don't know how to appreciate it. Only ate a piece of it.

There's the lotus rice. And finally the steamed food is served!

We were saying we are going to stuff ourselves silly on these two the day before going. In the end, I think we ate only 2 each. Too full from other dim sums. Haha

This is another of their signature dish. The green paste is durian. And I think it's shrimp wrapped in crispy noodles. This was nice.

Standard dim sum food - Char siew pau

Liu sha pau. There's the red bean paste at the background. We had 2 bowls each. It was yummy, not those watery type.

The long awaited xiao long pau. They took this out when it about 420pm I think. By then, we are already so full from all the dishes before! Wanted to have more of it.

This is also one of the food that was served very late. It's chicken. It smells really nice/

This desert tasted. If I didn't hear wrongly, it should be pumpkin. Not nice.

The drinks available was terrible. Anyway, I think dim sum should go with chinese tea. And their tea was okay, so that was sufficient.

They were more food served though. The above was what we had.

And when they stopped serving, the managers then started going table to table asking if we would like to have another serving of any particular dish that was served before.

Overall food and the customer service we got was really satisfactory. Worth going again!

And a picture of us!
